This refers to the article ‘Imran’s Chinese whispers’ (July 4). The writer has rightly highlighted that the prime minister, on different occasions, has urged Pakistanis to emulate various disparate models of governance including Chinese, Turkish, Malaysian, and that of state of Madina. The best practices of several systems can be picked and adapted according to the local situation. The most relevant model of extraordinary success is Bangladesh’s which allowed the country to surpass many established economies in a short span.
The major reason for Bangladesh’s economic growth is the country’s emphasis on welfare and poverty alleviation. Instead of following the examples of countries that have abundant resources, we should learn from a country which started its journey from the scratch.
