Access to high quality education is a fundamental right of children. Without education, countries are unable to catch up with the global race. The way the global labour market is changing due to technology and artificial intelligence hints at the fact that it will crowd out a large part of world population – and even countries. The countries with massive uneducated and unskilled labour will face catastrophic political and socio-economic challenges. Developing countries like Pakistan, where there are already many educated unemployed people, will face serious challenges. The need of the hour is to change our attitude towards education. We should spend more funds than what we are currently spending on the education sector. It is true that we are a financially scarce country, but all the developed economies like Japan, the UK, and the US were not as prosperous as they are now until they invested in education.
