LAHORE: Movement for Restoration of Cricket and Association (MRCA) has demanded resignation of Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani and the entire nominated Board of Governors (BoGs) for destroying Pakistan cricket from top to bottom.

Following a consultative virtual conference of MRCA representatives from all major cities, it was agreed to urge present PCB Chairman and BoGs to step down paving the way for democratically elected Chairman and BoGs and all the associations, stated the MRCA on Thursday.

“We urge the Prime Minister in his capacity as Patron of the PCB to remove Ehsan as Chairman PCB and all BoGs members,” it added.

MRCA demanded that the Prime Minister repeal the 2019 PCB constitution and restore the 2014 constitution.

MRCA stated that its demands were in line with provisions of the ICC Constitution. It has demanded the reinstatement of regional and district cricket associations and the restoration of departmental cricket.

All the clubs under the 2014 PCB constitution and subsequent model constitution for clubs be restored with their status, it said. The general body under the 2014 constitution be convened immediately, it added.

“All appointments made in PCB since September 2018 be declared null and void.

“Special government audit of the PCB be conducted for 2018-2019 to 2020-2021.

“All PCB/Regional staffers (including coaches, officials, ground staff etc.) removed . . . be reinstated.

MRCA spokesperson Tariq Sarwar said that PCB BoGs was a rubber stamp with no elected representation on it from the regions. This aspect makes the working of PCB as totally undemocratic, he added.

The nominated and handpicked BoGs members have no experience or knowledge to raise questions on the management-prepared annual programme, he said.
