The Covid-19 pandemic introduced Pakistan’s education institutions to the concept of distance learning. However, in our country, both teachers and students faced many technical issues that made it difficult for them to conduct online classes. One of the biggest problems which almost everyone faced was the poor quality and speed of the internet. Internet services provided by cellular mobile operators were also quite poor. On the other hand, power outages created more problems for people. Many students didn’t have a separate mobile phone or computer and their parents had to pause their work for their classes. These were the problems that were faced by students who study at private schools.

Many people have expressed that the authorities concerned have completely ignored the plight of children studying at government schools. Some students discontinued their studies because they had no resources, and it was impossible for them to join online classes. We have no idea when this pandemic will be over. Till then, we have to accept this new normal and have to continue with distance learning. The government should focus on how it can make online classes even better for students. Also, electronic gadgets should be provided to those students whose parents cannot afford to buy these things. Also, teachers’ salaries should be increased so that they can subscribe to good internet packages.
