Karachi Gymkhana capture Super Veterans title

KARACHI: Karachi Gymkhana Super Veterans beat Karachi Kings Super Veterans by seven wickets to lift the 7th PVCA Super Veterans T20 trophy for a sixth time here on Friday.

Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association has been organising this cricket match for the last seven years in Karachi.

Karachi Kings scored 139 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Fareeduddin made 40 off 39 balls with the help of three fours. Arif Habib scored 37 runs. Anjum Fazal and Abid Bukhari took one wicket each.

Karachi Gymkhana reached the target for the loss of three wickets in 18.4 overs.

Anjum produced a brilliant match-winning innings of 59 runs, hitting four fours. Iqbal Agha scored 36 runs off 35 balls. Mumtaz Khan made 26. Qaiser Hussain and Fareeduddin took one wicket each.

ICC President Zaheer Abbas presented trophies to the winning and runner-up teams.

Anjum was named the man of the match and Fareeduddin was declared the best batsman, Qaiser Hussain the best bowler and Akber Mehmood the best fielder.
