Two men shot dead

Two people were killed in separate incidents reported in the cityon Thursday. In the Jamshed Quarters police limits, Muhammad Zahid was shot dead while his father, Muhammed Saeed, and brother, Kashif, were injured at their hardware shop situated onMartin Road.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nasir Lodhi saidthe victims - residents of Nafeesabad in PIB Colony -were takento the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment, where Zahid succumbed to his injuries while the other two remain under treatment.

The deceased, he said,had multiple bullet wounds tohis upper torso. According to Lodhi, theattackers used 9mm pistols and six bullet shells found at the crime scene hadbeen forwarded for forensics.

He said the incident seemed an apparentsnatching bid but assured that allother aspects wouldbe investigated.

In a separate case, Gul Raheem was shot dead near Star Groundin Landhi, withinthe Quaidabad police’s jurisdiction. SHO Mohammed Ali Marwat said the deceased was a resident of Bengali Para and was unemployed.

He wasrushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but could not be saved. TheSHO said the murder appeared to be a targeted killing.
