Meghan Markle has finally come forward to address her real relationship with Thomas Markle.
Meghan Markle broke down her thoughts on her tumultuous relationship with her father during a chat with Oprah and addressed the host’s comment on ‘betryal’.
There she claimed, "If we are going to use the word betrayal, it’s because when I asked him, when we were told by the [communications] team, this is a story that was going to be coming out... we called my dad and we asked him."
She also added that when he was called Thomas admitted he "absolutely had not” been talking to the press. "I said, you know, the institution has never intervened for anything for us, but they can try to go in and kill this story. But if they do this once, we’re not going to be able to use that same leverage to protect our own kids one day."
This however is not the first time Meghan has addressed her relationship with Thomas. Back in 2016 in a new deleted post on The Tig the former royal has a very different view of her parents.
She wrote, "Despite the contrast of my two worlds growing up, there was a powerful commonality: both my parents came from little, so they made a choice to give a lot.”
"Buying turkeys for homeless shelters at Thanksgiving, delivering meals to patients in hospice care, donating any spare change in their pocket to those asking for it, and performing quiet acts of grace - be it a huge, smile, or a pat on the back to show ones in need that they would be alright.”
"This is what I grew up seeing, so that is what I grew up being: a young adult with a social consciousness to do what I could, and to, at the very least, speak up when I knew something was wrong."
