Rising inflation has been knocking on the doors of the country’s poor for more than a year. It is unfortunate that no one has taken any action so far. From high sugar prices to a sudden surge in prices of petroleum products, almost every other item has now gone beyond the reach of the majority. In our country, the rate of unemployment is already high. It was already difficult for people to afford a day’s meals. Now, many people have to starve for days. The Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns have made it even more difficult for people to make ends meet.
The government hasn’t taken adequate steps to deal with this issue. The poor are facing a lot of problems and desperately need financial assistance. The authorities are requested to look into this issue.
