This refers to the news report ‘Averting food security crisis: Strict ban likely on construction on agricultural lands’ (March 21). It is really encouraging to note that the relevant authorities have been thinking about conserving agricultural land. In most developed countries, land management is taken quite seriously. However, in our country, agricultural land is destroyed to make room for housing or commercial schemes. This trend should be stopped.
