Every season has its own trends and winter has its own charm. It is that time of the year again when we stack all our lawn outfits away. Yes, with the chilly season setting in, it is time to play with colours. Luckily, this season’s trends will keep you looking chic and glamorous, all the while keeping you warm and cosy. Cooler temperatures mean the opportunity to play with darker and brighter colours. Read on to find out more... prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The colour palette:

Choosing appropriate colours according to the season is the most important rule that everyone must follow. The colours that appear appealing in summer do not have the same effect on winters and can at times be displeasing to the eye.

What’s in?

The reigning colours of the season are cranberry, hot pink, deep emerald, teal, grey, purple, honey mustard, maroon and crimson. For those who are addicted to bright hues, the following colours are ‘in’ this season: blood orange, cherry, tangerine, cobalt blue, lime, bright yellow and fuchsia. However, don’t forget that black and white are hues that never go out of fashion.

Softer tones:

Lovers of soft tones on the other hand can opt for shades like lavender, orchid, peach and dusty rose. These shades are light enough to not give anyone an eye sore and make one look pretty at the same time. Like other seasons, winter also has its favourites in neutral shades that can be worn during the day or the night. These include colours like ivory, pea green, ink blue, grey, cocoa and beige. The best change you can bring to your wardrobe is to choose colours that you have never worked with before. For instance if wearing soft tones is your signature style, experiment with an outfit of neutral shades to make an impact. Make sure to select a hue that reflects your personality and voila you are all set to flaunt your style this winter.

Prints and patterns:

Botanical prints:

This year is all about incorporating botanical prints in your wardrobe. Floral prints and patterns are pretty much a permanent fixture on the fashion scene, but lately we are seeing a trend away from ditsy prints and towards big, botanical prints. So, this winter stand out by flaunting pretty botanical patterns. But make sure you don’t overdo yourself as you might end up looking like a garden.

Checks and plaids:

Plaids are a favourite amongst women. This is one pattern that never goes out of style and looks evergreen. And the good news is that the international designers have all recently featured updated versions of checks and plaids in their collections and it’s perfect for this winter.

Fabric factor:

Bold brocade:

Brocades are big this winter. Brocades look classy and elegant and will keep you warm, too! They can be worn for a formal night out if embellished well. But a little advice would be not to go overboard with the embroidery and let the material shine on its own.

Soft linen:

Come winter and all women want to get their hands on linen as this is the ideal fabric for the chilly season. So make sure that you get some pretty linens this winter.

Velvety accents:

Another trend that is ruling this season is velvet. However, incorporating this trend can be a little tricky. Velvet accents are what we are talking about. Many women tend to make a velvet shirt which doesn’t look appealing at all. So, just embellish your linen shirt with velvet laces that are readily available in the markets. And voila you are all set to flaunt in style.

Go the designer way:

We all know that as soon as the season changes many brands launch their collections. And the good news is that textile group LALA introduces its latest winter collection Lala Brocade Winter Collection 2015.
