The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved a hike of Rs0.82 per unit in electricity price, Geo.tv reported Friday.
The regulatory body made the decision based on the application for adjustment for the last quarter of the previous financial year.
Once the decision is enforced, customers will have to bear a burden of Rs84 billion.
The body said that the increase would be applicable to consumers after approval from the federal government, while the decision would not affect K-Electric.
