ISLAMABAD: The Moon Garden Builders, Karachi, on Tuesday requested the Supreme Court to extend the date for depositing security of Rs50 million in cash and Rs50 million bank guarantee.
Abdur Razaq Khamosh, the builder of Moon Garden, Karachi, had filed an application through his counsel Salman Akram Raja, seeking an extension in depositing security of Rs50 million in cash and Rs50 million bank guarantee.
The Supreme Court on November 17, while suspending the Sindh High Court (SHC) order to seal and demolish the Moon Gardens residential complex in Karachi, had directed the builder Abdur Razaq Khamosh to deposit security of Rs50 million in cash as well as Rs50 million bank guarantee within 15 days.
In his application filed before the apex court, Abdur Razaq Khamosh informed that the arrangements for depositing the said amount could not be made hence he prayed the apex court to extend the date to arrange the amount.
The SHC on November 10 had ordered to vacate the building within 24 hours. Abdur Razaq Khamosh, however, had challenged before the Supreme Court the order of the SHC.
The apex court, while suspending the order of the SHC, had asked Khamosh to deposit security of Rs50 million in cash as well as Rs50 million bank guarantee within 15 days which is expiring today (Wednesday, December 2).
