Pervaiz asks Imran Khan to abide by law

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Friday asked Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan to abide by the law, as all leaders are bound to follow it.
Talking to TV channels, he said the public meeting of PTI in Taramri area led to traffic congestion across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, besides disturbing the routine life of the people.
He said Imran Khan, as a political leader must set example for others and added, public rallies make no impact on election results. He said like others, PTI should also respect law of the land. If they disobey the law, how others would adhere to it, he added.
The minister said all the political leadership has followed the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan for upcoming local government election.He said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, chief of Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman have addressed no public gathering.
So Imran Khan should also follow the code of conduct and abide by the law, he said.Responding to a question, he said Imran Khan had been running his election campaign for the last 14 years by conveying his message across the country through TV channels.
