The news was confirmed on Twitter by Reham Khan, who posted a rebuttal to the rumour that she was co-producer for the project. “Misreporting alert: The Indian filmmaker wants to make a film on Imran Khan & came to discuss access,” she wrote. While Mrs. Khan may not be involved in the production, it is likely she will find herself to be a central character in the movie, if it does see the light of the day. Imran Khan has apparently given a go-ahead to Upadhyay on the condition that the film focus on his personal life and not his political career. Let’s hope this venture doesn’t suffer the same fate as Kaptaan, a biopic on the life of the cricketer-turned-politician that has been in the news for years but has yet to materialize.
