Hawke’s Bay

This beach is situated 20 kms south west of Karachi and is accessible through Mauripur Road or the Mubarak Goth Road. The beach is named after Bladen Wilmer Hawke, later 9th Baron Hawke of Towton, who had a beach house there in the 1930s. He used it for the weekends and other of his contemporaries joined him building houses that are now owned by many residents of Karachi.

Hawke’s Bay is a very famous tourist resort and is a sandy beach with crystal blue water. It is also a favourite for many Karachiites who visit there to enjoy picnicking, swimming, fishing, and camel and horse riding. Huts are also available for rent.

An interesting fact about Hawk’s Bay is that it is one of the few beaches in the world where green sea turtles come to lay eggs and it hosts one of the rarest reptile species.

During the nesting period, people can see these turtles creeping in and out of the sea mostly after sunset. These beaches also host various other marine species including algae, snails, and crabs. So heading out to this beach will not only give you a chance to enjoy the sun and the waves but will also provide animal lovers with an opportunity to witness some beautiful creatures of the sea.

French Beach

French Beach of Karachi is located half way between Hawkes Bay and Paradise Point. It is a small fishing village where many of the elite of Karachi prefer to head out to enjoy the sun and the waves. Surrounded by a boundary wall that makes its safe and private, it offers 95 huts, constructed by the villagers and are available for rent. The village doesn’t have running water, but has electric power. Hence, one can easily enjoy a day there and still be accessible to the facilities we have in the city.

The beach itself is rocky and the water is clear. People prefer this beach over Hawke’s Bay as it is cleaner and is much private. Plus, one can always sit on the cliff of rocks and enjoy the waves and the breeze.

Gadani Beach

This beach is on the Arabian Sea located near the Hub River and Cape Monze in Gadani, Lasbela District, Balochistan, Pakistan. Gadani is a little away from Karachi at about a drive of 2 hours. But if you really want to witness a clean beach with white sand and water that is a pure blue, then this is the place to go.

The beach is set within the sharp rocky mountains from Balochistan and the view is spectacular. There aren’t many huts available in the area, nor is there electricity or gas unless a generator is operated. However, this place is a perfect picnic spot and one can easily spend a whole day here and head home as night falls. The place is also famous for its Ship Breaking Yard.

Mubarak village

Mubarak Village is a fishing village in Karachi and is located along the shore of Arabian Sea in District South. The village is 30 km away from Karachi with a population of more than 10,000 people. It is Karachi’s second largest fisherman locality, but has no basic facilities of the city life. Hence, for those heading there for some fun need to keep in mind that the trip should be limited from morning to late evening.

The beach itself is beautiful and those who want to have a good time and enjoy nature close up, can head out towards Charna Island on a boat taken from Mubarak Village.

Charna Island is an hour away from there and has become a centre of attraction for water sports lovers. Once the boat stops at the island, one can always swim in the water or simply sit on the cliffs and have a picnic. However, to visit Charna Island, one must make arrangement of a guide who can provide the boat as well as safety for swimming in the sea.
