For the third year in the running, Mustang Productions in association with Encyclomedia PR brought the South Asian Fashion Parade to London, this year holding the event at the trendy Saatchi Gallery in London’s Chelsea. The showcase featured the work of ten designers from India and Pakistan - Aashni + Co presents Anamika Khanna, Syeda Amera, Seher Tareen, Areeba Asif, REMA, Rani Emaan, Ali Xeeshan, Rose Room Couture (by Aashni + Co.), Hira Shah and Jyoti Chandhok – and while most of these may not be leading names either side of the border, some of them are rising and promising ones.

The major highlight of the event, which was held this week, included the five year old British Pakistani sensation Laila Naim (the first Pakistani model for 159 year old British luxury fashion house Burberry) who walked for renowned designer Ali Xeeshan. The five year old held Ali’s finger on the ramp while at the end Ali made an adorable gesture by holding Laila up so that she could look at the guests at the event.

Celebs react to Sir Christopher Lee’s death

The world remembers him as the blood-sucking Dracula but actor Christopher Lee seems to be a lot closer to home for he played Pakistan’s legendary leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Jamil Dehlavi’s Jinnah. Unfortunately it’s time, for fans of the actor’s incredible work spanning over more than 250 films, to bid adieu to Lee. At 93 years of age, the actor passed away on Sunday in London after being hospitalised for respiratory problems and heart failure.

Fellow co-stars and celebs from Hollywood took to Twitter to pay their tribute to the actor. “An extraordinary man and life lead, Sir Christopher Lee. You were an icon and a towering human being with stories for days. We’ll miss you,” wrote Elijah Wood who worked with him in Lord of the Rings trilogy. ComedianOmid Djalili also joined in the grief sharing how his characters never failed to freak him out. “Scared the living daylights out of me for years. And I loved him for it. RIP Christopher Lee,” he tweeted.

It is said that Lee was about to begin shooting for a film with Uma Thurman titled The 11th and had said that “when I die, I want to die with my boots on” which he certainly did.
