Moor poster revealed!

A poster of Jami’s much awaited next film Moor has been revealed. A film that has been in production for a number of years now, Moor will take us to Balochistan, where we will follow the trials of a family affected by the corruption surrounding the 1984 shutdown of the Zhob Valley railways. While this much has been established about the film, the film’s poster doesn’t give any further insight into the content of the film.

The imagery in the poster is vague: what appears like a stack of belongings takes centre stage on the poster. But cinema-goers will rejoice in the poster’s appearance, for it seems like concrete confirmation that Moor indeed will hit the cinemas, and soon.

Written and directed by Jamshed ‘Jami’ Mahmood, the film was previously titled Morqaye but changed titles midway to Moor, which means ‘mother’ in Pashto.

The teaser highlights beautiful panoramas of Balochistan, juxtaposed against the aural backdrop of a soul-stirring score. Strings is known to have been roped in to produce the music of the film. According to them, doing music for Moor was an experimental expedition. Javed Bashir, Meesha Shafi, Ustad Hakeemullah, Rahim Shah and Rahma Ali are some of the few names who will feature in the film’s soundtrack.

The film features Hameed Sheikh, Samiya Mumtaz, Soniya Hussain and Ayaz Samoo in lead roles and is rumoured to release in cinemas nationwide on August 14, 2015.
