A week full of wedding bells

What’s winter without an onslaught of wedding festivities to add a dose of excitement to the chilly nights? With everyone and their aunt deciding to tie the knot come December, it’s not surprising that there has been a slew of celebrity weddings of late. Instep rounds up some glamorous snapshots to show you how the stars do it when it comes to big fat desi weddings.

Sanam wore a Zara Shahjahan outfit on her dholki and for her mehndi, she chose a printed floral lehnga and embellished top from Nomi Ansari’s Gul collection.

Actress Sanam Saeed married her childhood sweetheart Farhan Hassan in a series of events that will span over 2 weeks. The festivities kicked off with a dholki in Lahore hosted by the groom’s mother, architect and socialite Isbah Hassan. With the city’s who’s who in attendance – including Ali Azmat, HSY, Kamiar Rokni, Cybil Chaudhry and fellow actors Ayesha Khan and Mohib Mirza – guests danced the night away.

Vintage is back in fashion, as proven by Sanam on her nikkah, decked out in her mother’s wedding dress.

The mehndi and nikkah took place in Karachi, where the bride and groom both live, and will be followed by celebrations in Phuket, Thailand which will include a beach wedding and a cruise. Now that’s what we call getting hitched in style!

Lahore-based designer Hina Butt’s wedding was also a lavish affair.

Cybil Choudhry and Mohib Mirza were amongst the guests who rocked Lahore at the star-studded dholki.

The couple’s nikkah took place in a grand ceremony at the Badshahi Mosque and Hina, dressed in an opulent white gharara, looked every inch the Moghul princess as she posed for photos against the majestic background. There was a fun sangeet night and mehndi ceremony with the bride decked out in a series of vibrant outfits and looking like the picture of happiness.
