Sometimes mismanagement can cause fatal devastation with horrible consequences. Our seismological system in Islamabad, which was donated and installed by Japan, was fully equipped with the latest technology and the ability to warn about earthquakes beforehand.
However, it has not been functional for several years due to mismanagement and negligence of the officials concerned. Had it been functional, many lives could have been saved during the recent earthquake in Pakistan. I request the concerned authorities to fix this system before more lives are endangered.
