This refers to the news report, ‘Pakistan, Iran to join forces against Daesh other terror outfits’ (October 29). It is a matter of great satisfaction that Iran is joining hands with us to resolve the Afghan imbroglio because the situation after the recent takeover bid of Kunduz by the Taliban has sent warning shots to both the countries.
Keeping in view Isis’ presence, we have welcomed Iran’s offer of playing a role in the Afghan talks. Both the countries have realised that the complex Afghan issue cannot be resolved in isolation without involving neighbouring countries, especially Iran. This positive shift in Pakistan-Iran relations holds the key to regional peace.
