It was Napoleon who said: “The word ‘impossible’ does not exist in my dictionary.” Driven by ambition he ventured to conquer Europe. However, soon it became ‘impossible’ for him to conquer Russia where he suffered a humiliating defeat that paved the way for his ‘Waterloo’. Exiled to an isolated island – Saint Helena – it was impossible for Napoleon to even escape. There he met his tragic end. In this episode of history, there is a lesson for the PTI, which continues to persist in error without changing its direction.
Imran Khan like Napoleon also believes that the word ‘defeat’ does not exist in his dictionary. Nevertheless everybody gets defeated once in a while. If the PTI is determined to win then they ought to accumulate all their strategic assets, ie, electable with wealth, violence and cunning workers. However, if the party is focussed on change, then the current system of elections which is designed to maintain the status quo ought to be discarded completely.
