Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg
- Born on 5th June 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.
- Is the youngest of nine children.
- Parents divorced when he was a child.
- Had developed an addiction to drugs by the time he was a teenager.
- Was involved in several hate crimes in his teens.
- Became one of the original members of the boy band New Kids on the Block when he was 13, alongside his brother Donnie, but quit the group after a few months.
- Was arrested after two attacks on Vietnamese men in 1988 when he was 16. Was charged with attempted murder and pleaded guilty to felony assault. Served only 45 days of his two years jail sentence. (Applied for a pardon for his criminal convictions in 2014 which generated controversy; the petition was eventually closed.)
- Formed Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch in 1990, earning a hit with the single ‘Good Vibrations’ and releasing two albums before the outfit disbanded.
- Made his screen debut in Renaissance Man (1994) before gaining recognition for his role in Boogie Nights (1997).
- Has since starred in movies including The Perfect Storm (2000), Planet of the Apes (2001), The Italian Job (2003), The Departed (2006), The Happening (2008), The Other Guys (2010), The Fighter (2010), Ted (2012), Ted 2 (2015), Daddy’s Home (2015), Daddy’s Home 2 (2017), and the Transformers franchise (2014, 2017).
- Executive produced the television series Entourage (2004 – 2011), which was loosely based on his experiences in Hollywood.
- Is the co-owner of the Wahlburgers chain which he founded with his brothers Paul and Donnie.
- Has been married to model Rhea Durham since 2009. They have two daughters and two sons together.
