Qalandars decide to hire Babar Azam’s ex-coach

LAHORE: The management of Pakistan Super League's popular franchise Lahore Qalandars has decided to hire coach Rana Sadiq, former coach of Babar Azam at club level.

The news of coach Rana Sadiq being unemployed and selling fruits was broadcast which led to the franchise hiring his services. Lahore Qalandars decided to hire Rana Sadiq, the coach of two registered clubs of PCB and Babar Azam's Age Group. The report of Rana Sadiq's fruit stall was broadcast by Geo News two days ago. Rana Sadiq coaches two Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) registered clubs at Carson Ground in Lahore, but sports activities are suspended due to the corona virus, so Rana Sadiq decided to feed himself and his children. He set up a fruit stall in the main bazaar. After the report was aired, the management of Lahore Qalandars contacted Rana Sadiq and decided to hire him. Lahore Qalandars director Aqib Javed informed that he was saddened to see the cricket coach selling fruits. Therefore, it has been decided to bring Rana Sadiq back to his original profession.

According to Aqib Javed, Rana Sadiq said that he has also coached Babar Azam, Faizan Raja and Agha Salman in the age group, so we will also hire them for training the children in the age group and take them to the High Performance Center. He said that in addition to this, Lahore Qalandars will also help them under the program of those who became unemployed due to Coveid 19. Atif Rana, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lahore Qalandars, said that the platform of Lahore Qalandars is not only to bring out the talent but also to take care of the people associated with the sport and for this purpose he approached Rana Sadiq.

He said that as soon as the report was aired, it was decided to link him with the Lahore Qalandars platform. At the age group level, they would take advantage of Rana Sadiq's abilities.
