Our village, Kotka Nali chak Sirkikhel, is located at a distance of two kilometers from Serai Naurang city near the Kurram river. Its population exceeds 3000 people. We have a single transformer of 50 kv for the entire population. It often goes out of order due to overload and then the poor residents of the village repair it by their own resources without any help from the Wapda authorities. Recently it went out of order again and the villagers refused to contribute for its repair, as they are in a quandary whether to afford the hiking domestic expenses in the current lockdown or pay for the defective transformer. They had to move from pillar to post to find some one munificent enough to extend financial assistance for the repair of the electric transformer and restoration of power supply but to no avail.
Now summer has almost set in and the month of Ramaaan is imminent, and the residents of the area are wondering how to deal with this problem. Our elected members belonging to the JUI-F are not visible in the area. The district administration is completely inept. The chief minister and chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are requested to kindly look into the matter.
