All those using the Islamabad Expressway should look forward to the day when it is operational as a ‘signal-free corridor’. Having to stop at the many intersections along the way is both a waste of time and frustrating. At the weekend, it takes me almost one hour to reach my office. On Saturday mornings, it takes only 40 minutes because there are fewer cars.
People save at least 10 minutes if the two-inch high cat’s eyes installed on the Lok Virsa crossing are removed. At present, cross traffic is not allowed on the highway except for construction machines. There is a need to deploy traffic police to supervise their crossing.
