River Korang in Bara Kahu of the Islamabad Capital Territory is being excavated and destroyed by those without any regard for the environment, and tranquillity of the residents there who have the misfortune of living in the area. I lodged a complaint with the CDA and other agencies to stop this blatant destruction of the environment but to no avail. They expressed their helplessness to preserve the natural flow of the river that supplies water to Rawal Lake.
If this savagery is unleashed in the capital city, what happens in far-off areas of the country? It seems there is no law in this country and that the CDA has become a dead entity. The CJP, our parliamentarians and Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani in particular are requested to take notice of this vicious assault on nature by those who consider themselves above law.
