This refers to the article, ‘Glory days’ (September 7) by Syed Talat Hussain. The writer’s criticism regarding the September 6 celebrations is uncalled for, unfounded and devoid of facts. What else would one discuss on September 6? Sovereignty, dignity and national security all have one meaning and they cannot be given any other meaning through any interpretation of history.
Sabre-rattling shows the extent of preparedness of a nation and is displayed on rare occasions. We have a tradition of writing history with distorted facts.
