This letters refers to the article 'Lessons from Zinn' (Jan 29, 2020) by Bill Bigelow. There are two ideas out of the many the teachings of Howard Zinn, more relevant to the Pakistani situation.
First, the point of learning about social studies was not simply to memorize facts: it was to imbue students with a desire to change the world. Second, the people should be apprised of their history; otherwise, they start uncritically believing whatever they are told by their leaders.
