Two-time Academy Award winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy spent a week in Davos, Switzerland, as part of World Economic Forum (WEF) 2020 that recently came to an end. The documentary filmmaker, who has been representing Pakistan on various international forums through her work and talks, conducted a workshop alongside meeting prominent personalities from across the globe.

“My week in Davos concluded with an immersive workshop on resilience; Mike Horn (Professional Explorer) and I shared stories from our lives engaging the audience to think about their own challenges and how to overcome them! My own motto in life: If a door hasn’t opened for you it’s because you haven’t kicked it hard enough!” she posted on her social media earlier this week.

Sharmeen also had a conversation with Deepika Padukone, who also attended World Economic Forum 2020. She later posted a picture with Padukone, who recently starred in a film called Chapaak that revolves around the life of an acid attack survivor.

“Artists have a moral responsibility,” SOC captioned her picture with Deepika, adding, “The best conversation at World Economic Forum... I hope Chapaak changes the way we see women in pain – Deepika Padukone you are a hero!”
