“IGP Sindh has become a party and indulged in politics. We are not going to tolerate his activities anymore as he has lost the confidence of provincial cabinet, government and the people of Sindh. We would not let officials to indulge themselves in politics”, Murad Ali Shah said while responding to a call attention in Sindh Assembly on Thursday.

The chief minister bitterly criticized the provincial police chief and claimed that several months back, he had received information that police would lodge fabricated cases against Sindh government and its officials, on which he ordered an inquiry but the inquiry report, which was presented to IGP Sindh, was not conveyed to the him or any other authority.

He maintained that after Sindh government expressed its no-confidence on the IGP Sindh, he started using negative tactics and added that he was the first victim of the vicious campaign when a journalist was given access to a terrorist and he blamed the Chief Minister as his accomplice. “If I’m an accomplice to a terrorist, they should take action against me”, he added.

Strongly criticizing the SSP Dr. Rizwan, he said the IGP recommended the name of Dr. Rizwan to him but added that it proved that the said SSP is not a good official. “Imtiaz Shaikh on several occasions complained about Shikarpur police to the IGP but as the SSP is a blue-eyed boy of the IGP, no action was taken against him”, Murad Ali Shah said adding that a incompetent police official has been posted as SSP Shikarpur who registered cases people who were not present in Pakistan”.

Sindh CM deplored that SSP Shikapur leveled serious allegations against public representatives and provincial ministers, which were highlighted by the media and added that if something wrong has been done by the politicians, they should be punished and if a police officials levels wrong allegation, he should also be taken to task.

“An incompetent police official has prepared a misleading report against a senior politician and respectable person. A similar report was prepared against provincial minister Saeed Ghani. If Imtiaz Shaikh has done something wrong, why he was not arrested by the police”, Sindh CM questioned and added that he had not prevented any police official to take action against any criminal or person in the province.

He maintained that IGP Sindh wrote a letter to the Sindh Chief Secretary and complained about surrendering the services of some police officials to the center and added that this letter was leaked to media, which highlighted it and gave impression if Sindh government was against ‘honest’ police officials. Murad Ali further said he has talked to the Prime Minister Imran Khan on this issue thrice and he has been told that as soon as PM returns back to the country, IGP would be replaced and added that his government tried their best to work with the present IGP Sindh but it did not work for them.
