The shortage of wheat flour is surprising since we are not only producing surplus wheat but also exporting it to countries like Afghanistan. I think this is mainly due to inefficiency. It is reported that a lot of wheat is lying in the government godowns, waiting to be distributed; the only thing lacking is proper administration and management.
This is a mark of the poor organization of the Punjab government in particular, since they are the largest producer of wheat. I think the PM has to immediately look into the affairs of the Punjab government. A change, if required, has to be implemented immediately as things in Punjab have been stagnant for the last year and a half.
