We have all heard of the phrase ‘boots on the ground,’ but courtesy of federal minister Faisal Vawda we have now been introduced to ‘boots on the table.’ In late 2018 minister Vawda arrived on site in the aftermath of a terrorist attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi strapped with a bulletproof vest and a firearm handy.
Resorting to such stunts makes no sense to those of us who had high hopes that Imran Khan and the PTI might deliver. It would be much better if this government took on poverty, illiteracy, inflation, unemployment, tax evasion, decline in exports etc. with the same zeal with which they confront their political opponents.
