Firdous Ashiq Awan resigns as PPP Punjab vice president

KARACHI: Former Federal Minister and PPP leader Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Friday resigned from her position as Vice President of the party's Punjab chapter.

Ms Awan announced her decision at a press conference in Karachi today.

She said that the PPP had been abandoned in Punjab and that the entire party was being punished because of the Sindh government's mistakes.

But she clarified that she was only stepping down from her position as vice president but would continue to be a member of the party.
