ISLAMABAD: A Vietnamese electric fan manufacturer has expressed its interest to import light fans from Pakistan for its domestic market, as there is an increasing demand of the luxury light fans in resorts, hotels, and spas.
A statement issued by Engineering Development Board (EDB) said the fan-maker expressed these views during the visit of a Pakistani trade delegation to the Far Eastern country.
The visit of a nine-member delegation from local fan industry to Ho Chi Minh City was organised by EDB and Ministry of Industries & Production.
The EDB statement said the prime objective of the seven-day (December 18 to 25, 2019) tour was to hold B2B (business-to-business) meetings with Vietnamese counterparts to explore opportunities to enhance exports of this sector.
It said Pakistani industry officials were optimistic that Pakistan’s fan industry was well-poised to penetrate the Vietnamese market, increasing exports volume, as their Vietnamese counterparts had shown keen interest in importing Pakistani fans.
Delegates held productive meetings with different companies including M/s Co Phat Mechanical Manufacturing Company (Cophaco), which is one of the prominent manufacturers of electric fans in Vietnam, the statement said. The company was curently exporting its products to USA, Thailand and Korea.
Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association (PEFMA) in its statement said, “They (Vietnam businessmen) intend to import light fans from Pakistan to supply in their country because of an increasing demand of luxury light fans”.
The trade delegation also visited M/s Caribean Motor Manufacturing Factory and also held meeting with Luu Tri, Director General Nghe Nang Industrial Co Ltd and visited industrial fan manufacturing factory of Nghe Nang Co Ltd in Vietnam, it said.
The trade delegation also visited “Vietbuild-29 Industrial Exhibition” held in Ho Chi Minh City related to white goods to explore possibilities of exporting fans to Vietnam.
The delegates held B2B meetings with other relevant stakeholders and highlighted Pakistan’s engineering capabilities and capacities, the statement said.
The EDB said it had put together this trade delegation in the first place from domestic fan industry to visit Vietnam in its efforts to enhance export of value-added products from Pakistan.
This initiative is expected to act as a driving force for a sizeable growth in engineering goods exports potential of the country and more such delegations in other sector shall be organized by EDB to give boost to the export of value added engineering products, the board said.
