KARACHI: Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's new animated short "Sitara: Let Girls Dream" has won three awards in Los Angeles Animation Festival 2019. They were given on the best screen play, best music and humanity category.
Director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy won an Academy Award in 2016 for her documentary “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness.” She was the only female director to be honored that night. Two years prior to that, she became the first director from Pakistan to win an Oscar.
