LAHORE: Adamjee Insurance and Magic River won their respective matches in the Gerry’s sponsored Argentine Republic Cup 2019 played here at Lahore Polo Club ground on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, Adamjee Insurance outscored Guard Group/Dascon Construction Company by eight and a half goal to two. From the winning side, Shah Shamyl Alam was top scorer with three goals while Kashif Jamal and Shah Qublai Alarm banged in a brace and Rafay Sheikh struck one. From the losing side, Shahnawaz Ayaz Durrani and Saqib Khan Khakwani hit one goal each. Adamjee started the first chukker with a field goal to take 1-0 lead while they also struck one in the second chukker to enhance their lead to 2-0. Guard Group/DCC then made a tremendous comeback by banging in two back-to-back goals to square the things at 2-2. It was all that Guard Group/DCC could get from the match as in the third chukker, Adamjee slammed in two more goals to make it 4-2 while scored a quartet in the fourth and last chukker to win the match eight and a half goal to two, as they had a half goal handicap advantage.
In the second match of the day, Magic River outclassed Platinum Homes by 12 goals to three and a half. From the winning side, which had one and a half goal handicap advantage, Ahmed Mawaz Tiwana fired in fantastic five goals while Ghulam Mustafa Monnoo struck a quartet, Hassan Agha a brace and Abdul Rehman Monnoo one goal.
