Chashma Lake in the Mianwali district is the second largest freshwater source in the country. However, due to untreated waste coming from nearby housing localities and hospitals this lake is gradually losing its natural beauty and turning into a waste pond.
The situation is worse in winter when water flow is nearly nonexistent. This pollution is spoiling the marine life in the lake. The Punjab Fisheries Department is requested to take urgent rescue measures.
