  • The sartorial side of Dobara Phir Se

The only thing trending on our calendars this week was Mehreen Jabbar’s Dobara Phir Se. The promotions caused a media frenzy, which started in Dubai, traveled to Lahore and then flew south to Karachi before the film actually made a nationwide premiere on Friday. This, of course was a star-studded circuit, with the glitziest of celebrities turning up at the Lahore and Karachi premieres to support one of the biggest films of the year. While an entire gamut of celebrities from film and television turned up to support the film, we think the focus here should remain on the gorgeous leading ladies of the film, including Mehreen Jabbar of course!

Hareem Farooq

Hareem is not your average, pint sized star and we love that she has the personality, character and confidence to dress her strengths up. She looked every bit a star at the Karachi premiere, in Elan and her performance as the nervous and indecisive Zainab was stellar. Hareem is already a producer (Jaanan) but we hope to see more of her in front of the camera rather than behind it.

Sanam Saeed

Sanam has effortless style but for once she also chose the right outfit, as she looked comfortably glamorous in this blue Natasha Kamal off shoulder dress. Sanam also fit right into her role in the film. A fun loving, modern girl, we loved her as Samar as she finally got to tap into her strength: comedy and dance. We loved her character as much as her footwork in the wedding track, ‘Lar Gaiyan’.

Tooba Siddiqui

Wearing an elegant Saira Shakira dress, Tooba Siddiqui looked every bit the fashion model that she originally is. But kudos to her, she carried none of her diva-ness into the film, where she plays a smart and modern Pakistani girl living and working in New York. Natasha was very cool, even if we don’t understand why she gave Hammad a second chance.

Mehreen Jabbar

Mehreen Jabbar has a distinct style and we’re glad she stuck to it in the movie just as much as on the red carpet. It’s a realistic, fuss free approach that we saw in Ramchand Pakistani and Jackson Heights and now got to see her genre of cinema in Dobara Phir Se as well. Sticking to her personal style, Mehreen wore a traditional Sonya Battle outfit to the Karachi premiere.
