The week saw all types of launches, from luxury lingerie brands to luxury portals retailing fashion. The mad behemoth of exhibitions (always necessary before Ramzan) was on an all time rise and between Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad one saw (albeit mostly on Instagram) a retail frenzy. Who: Babra Sharif
Where: Launch of Fabbitt
Socialite Anush Ammar launched her very own fashion portal Fabbitt, essentially an online multi label boutique catering to millions of enthusiasts of Pakistani fashion. A launch is incomplete without celebrity presence and Babra Sharif more than excited us. Wearing a swaddling green outfit with black accessories, she may not have been a stylist’s dream come true but she did carry off diva to a T. And she sort of over shadowed everyone else.
Who: Mahira Khan
Where: Launch of Amante
We’ll have to wait quite a bit for Mahira Khan’s Raees with Shah Rukh Khan to release but thankfully the film star makes enough appearances to keep her fans happy. The people at Dolmen Mall got more than a glimpse of the beautiful star when she came to launch Amante, the new lingerie brand from Sri Lanka, now open at the mall. Wearing a look from Feeha Jamshed’s spring/summer 2016 collection, Bob Squad, Feeha completed the look with red lips and high heels and looked as lovely as anyone ever could.
Who: Meesha Shafi
Where: Ali Xeeshan Studio
Meesha Shafi is a style icon who we love for wearing her mind and never following convention. She can be seen wearing a very opulent wardrobe put together by Ali Xeeshan in drama series Mor Mahal and Meesha was recently spotted at Xeeshan’s studio for wardrobe trials for her upcoming US tour with Arif Lohar. Where: Istanbul
In Istanbul for Maria Wasti’s TV show, Mehwish Hayat did us proud by dressing up like the proverbial global tourister, white shirt and denim et al. She wears skinny jeans that make her legs go on for days, with a knotted top and layered necklace. Completing her Bohemian meets uptown girl look are tan Oxfords and aviators.
