Taylor Swift is always in the red carpet spotlight, no matter where she goes, and this week her appearance at the VMA’s was no different. The night’s big nominee (and winner!) sparkled in a sequined houndstooth crop top and matching leisure pants, both by Ashish Gupta. She accessorized the ensemble with Ofira rings and striped Christian Louboutin heels. Many critics wondered whether the look was a hit or miss but no one could deny that she did stand out in the sea of nudity around!
Hadiqa Kiani
Where: Lahore
Pakistan’s pop diva, Hadiqa Kiani is one who loves to experiment with her looks and she’s known to really think out of the box. Here, however, she posted a picture of herself in a simple, white embroidered Generation kurta. We love the simplicity of the image and the fact that she still managed to make the style her own with those bright blue kohlapuri chappals and the radiant shade of pink on her lips and nails.
Sonam Kapoor
Where: Dheere Dheere video launch in Mumbai
Another celeb who rocked the monochrome look last week was the ever-stylish Sonam Kapoor. She paired a pleated metallic Proenza Schouler skirt with a sexy black crop top and fun Altuzzara heels that added a hint of colour to the ensemble. Her soft make-up and tousled curls kept the overall look feminine and pretty and saved it from veering in the Goth direction.
Mohsin Ali
Where: Magnum Party, Karachi
The Magnum Party red carpet was a rather brown affair (pun!) but we loved Mohsin Ali’s play with colour. If judged in terms of ice cream, we’d say he was a tad bit pistachio, chocolate and strawberry rolled in one…very tutti fruity! We just love that he never shies away from making the effort.
