Neons in the summer don’t sound like an ideal combination, but surprisingly it is one trend that has transcended numerous seasons to become a permanent fixture on the style circuit. With local designers such as Sana Safinaz and Nomi Ansari embracing vibrant hues in all their glory, it’s no wonder that neons are making their presence felt on red carpets in Pakistan. It’s a trend that’s fun, adventurous and can make a chic statement. Our fashionistas show us how to do it right.
Nadia Hussain Khan
The model’s Bebe jumpsuit in two contrasting shades that she wore to the L’Oreal/Nomi Ansari brunch in Karachi is casual yet head-turning - perfect for a midday outing. Nadia pairs her outfit with a funky truck-art bag by a design start-up based in Islamabad called Enigma Creations. Not everyone can carry off neon from head to toe but she manages to make it work.

Soha Hafeez
Also spotted at the Sana Safinaz outlet launch in Lahore last week was this bright green silk top by the brand. Soha brings a bit of edge to the uber-glam number by pairing it with ripped jeans and oversized watch - quirky and cool at its best.

Maha Ahmed and Sadaf Jalil
The team at Sana Safinaz is undoubtedly one of the most fashionable and glamorous around and it came out in full force at the brand’s new outlet launch in Lahore this week. We love how Sadaf pulls off the florescent detailing on her chevron-print Sana Safinaz jumpsuit with panache and Maha picks it up with bright colours in a luxe silk tunic, also by the designer duo.

HSY
Guys don’t necessarily need to shy away from this trend. HSY shows us how men can incorporate bright shades into their outfits and end up looking dapper rather than disastrous. His pink and blue striped silk tie and matching pocket square, both from his own label, made a smooth statement at the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week red carpet, paired with a classic beige
blazer.
