Earlier this year, filmmaker duo, Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza, announced that they will be releasing two feature films in 2020, under the banner of Filmwala Pictures. One of them is a patriotic film, called Quaid e Azam Zindabad and the other is a superhero film, titled Fatman. While we already know that the former features Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa, who will essay the role of a cop; according to recent reports, the latter stars actor, singer and host Ahmad Ali Butt in the titular role.
The actor took to Instagram to announce the news and shared a picture of himself with the duo. “Alhumdulillah it’s official. My next film and my first as a lead with these crazy people – Nabeel Qureshi, Fizza Ali Meerza...” Ahmad wrote.
“Looking forward to make a great film with these great creative filmmakers and hope you’ll all love it as much as I love the script… InshaAllah see you next year,” he added.
In a recent interview with Something Haute, the actor shared that it was the title of the film, Fatman that attracted him. He added that it “deals with the subject of body shaming; something we as a society take very lightly.”
According to the joint press statement that was released earlier this year by Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza, “Fatman is a thrilling action comedy drama that will revolve around an ordinary person who accidently turns into a superhero.”
Apart from this, Ahmad Ali Butt is all set to appear in an intense drama serial, titled Jhooti alongside Ranjha Ranjha Kardi actress Iqra Aziz.
