This refers to the news report, ‘PTI suspends Justice Wajih’s membership’ (August 6). Imran Khan, the great democrat and harbinger of ‘change’, has shown his real face. He has suspended the membership of Justice (r) Wajihuddin – one of the few members of the PTI who have tried to make a difference in politics, starting from the democratic process within the party.
There have been many critical reports about what is going on inside the PTI and that does not augur well for the party and his chairman. The PTI has accepted political turncoats to its folds to the detriment of those who built the party from scratch. The intra-party elections have been lacking in transparency and have created doubts within the PTI cadres. Wajihuddin, who contested the presidential election as the PTI candidate, was not happy with the way the PTI had sold its tickets for money during the cantonment board elections in Lahore. By suspending the party membership of one of the most honest party leaders, Imran Khan has dropped the democratic guise and has shown his autocratic face.
