JEDDAH: Prime Minister Imran Khan during his meeting on Thursday with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman discussed the present situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).
The premier, after arriving in Saudi Arabia on his two-day visit, was welcomed by Makkah’s Governor Khalid Al-Faisal Abdul Aziz.
During the meeting, Indian aggression and the revocation of Article 370 of the disputed region were also brought under discussion.
In the meeting with the Saudi crown prince, the PM condemned the attacks on Saudi oil facilities.
Moreover, the two leaders also went into discourse about the strengthening of economic ties between the two.
PM Khan’s visit to the kingdom is projected to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
On Monday, PM Imran telephoned the Saudi crown prince to condemn the attack on the Kingdom's oil facilities.
Earlier this week, a Saudi-led coalition said that an attack on Saudi Arabia that triggered the biggest jump in oil prices in almost 30 years was carried out with Iranian weapons, as President Donald Trump said Washington was “locked and loaded” to hit back.
"The Prime Minister has been in regular contact on the Kashmir issue with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman," a statement from the PM House earlier said.
It said since the last visit of the crown prince in February, "there is a growing momentum in Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations in all areas of cooperation".
The premier was also expected to discuss with the Kingdom's rulers "ways of further strengthening the economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia".
Traditionally marked by warmth and mutual trust, PM Imran's visit to the Kingdom was expected to further reinforce the close fraternal Pakistan-Saudi relations "and deepen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields".
