We can learn a thing or two from the Greece referendum. The foremost is mustering enough courage to say ‘No’ to the capitalist financial intermediaries. Being a servant to these banks is causing a lot of pressure on us. More taxes, privatisation and individual debt are just some examples to put a spotlight on.
The other element from which our government can take a lesson is the functions of a true democracy. The Greek leadership showed that by holding a referendum. Alexis Tsipras literally asked his voters to guide the establishment. The outcome of Grexit does not matter. What matters is that governments and the populace join hands.
