As we get closer to three Pakistani films releasing during the Eid holidays, promotions are picking up pace and we’ve actually gone into information overload. It’s sometimes difficult to space and pace out all content being promoted. But while we have a new song releasing almost every day, from either of the films, the recently released melancholic love ballad, ‘Chan Mahi’ from Heer Maan Ja, has found a way to our playlists.
Featuring the film’s lead pair Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan, the song is about heartbreak as love birds Heer and Kabeer part ways due to some conflict. With vocals by Abdullah Qureshi, who has also co-written the lyrics with Kinza Razzak, the soft track is composed by Ahmed Ali and is one of the better tracks on the album.
Earlier, the complete music album of the film comprising four songs was released, followed by music videos of each track. ‘Chan Mahi’ is the fourth and last song from Heer Maan Ja, a film that promises to be a joy ride.
Reflecting on the film’s music, Imran Raza Kazmi, co-producer of the film, said in a press statement, “Heer Maan Ja is a rom-com that will give you all genres of music. Where we have the Punjabi bhangra number ‘Addi Maar’ and the club mix for the title track, we also have soft and slow numbers like ‘Kuch Toh Hua Hai’ and ‘Chan Mahi’. This will be the first time you’ll see this super hit on-screen couple Ali and Hareem together in a romantic setting and we believe you’ll be completely struck by their fabulous chemistry.”
