- Born on 2nd August 1992, in Cambridge, England.
- Her father is Scottish; mother is a Uganda-born Gujarati Indian.
- Started writing songs when she was 14, and made her (commercially unreleased) first album, titled 14, at the same age, financed by a loan from her parents.
- Started posting her songs on MySpace in 2008 which caught the attention of a promoter and got her the chance to perform at a gig. Went by the stage name Charli XCX which was her MSN Messenger display name when she was younger.
- Started a fine art degree at UCL's Slade School of Fine Art but dropped out in her second year.
- Released her debut studio album, True Romance, in 2013, before gaining mainstream recognition the following year with the release of her sophomore record Sucker (2014).
- Her third album, Charli, is set to be released in September this year.
- Experiences sound-to-colour synaesthesia.
