Civil nuclear cooperation also ‘right of Pakistan’: Aizaz

WASHINGTON: Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry has asserted that like India, civil nuclear cooperation is also right of Pakistan as energy need is more here.

Speaking to Geo News exclusively, Aizaz Chaudhry said, “Our power generation is as per international standards and it is protected under International Energy Agency (IEA).”

“Pakistan has adopted satisfactory measures for protection of its nuclear assets and terrorists can not even think to come close to nuclear installations”, he asserted.

He went on to say that acquiring nuclear capability is required for peace and balance of power in South Asia. He said NPT is a prejudiced treaty and Pakistan can not sign any such kind of accord.
