The same old faces in the civilian administration during the Rangers’ targeted operation in Karachi is creating a negative impact on the overall results of the operation. Officers of the district administration, police and municipal authorities are famous for serving the interests of their political patrons because without their support it is difficult to get a good posting in Karachi.
To make the operation a success it is necessary to replace all officers of the district administration, police and municipal authorities of Karachi. There are good and efficient officers of the administrative service, police service and ex-PCS serving in the rural areas of Sindh who are not affiliated with any political party nor do they fear any retaliation. Without taking this step it is difficult to eliminate terror and crime.
