This refers to the news report, ‘My list will expose many generals, warns Zardari’ (June 17). The aggressive attitude the former president has adopted is probably his reaction to the Rangers operation against corrupt mafias in Karachi that allegedly involve some PPP leaders.
Zardari needs to realise that due to corruption allegations the PPP has lost a lot of ground in the country. In parliamentary terms, his party has been reduced to the province of Sindh only. The PPP’s performance in the recent Gilgit-Baltistan polls and local bodies’ elections in the country has been dismal. The people of Sindh are also disappointed with corruption in the provincial government. The former president under these circumstances can ill-afford a threatening attitude. Instead he should look inwards, reform his party and concentrate on good governance.
